Ada Dosai / Ada Dosa

Ada Dosa:

A Healthy breakfast recipe also a dinner recipe. We use pulses in this recipe which is rich in protien . Kids too like this healthy breakfast. My mil use to put one handful of drumstick leaves for this dosa. Here i rarely get it so i skipped adding drumstick leaves.

Ingredients:

Raw rice (pacharisi) - 1 cup
Idli rice - 1 cup
Urad dhal - 1/4 cup
Thoor dhal - 1/4 cup
Bengal gram (kadalai paruppu) - 1/4 cup
Moong dhal - 2tbsp
Dry chillies - 4-5
Green chillies - 2
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Asafoetida - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Onion - 1 ( finely chopped)
Coriander leaves - few
Curry leaves - few
Green chillies - 2 nos(finely chopped)

Method:


  • Soak raw rice, idli rice.
  • Soak thoor dhal, bengal gram, moong dhal.
  • Soak urad dhal.
  • Soak dry chillies.


  • The above ingredients should be soaked for atleast 2 hrs( i start at 10 am to soak the ingredients).
  • Grind urad dhal to a fine paste by adding water.
  • Grind raw rice and idli rice and add to the urad dhal batter.

  • Grind thoor dhal, bengal gram, moong dhal, dry chillies, green chillies, cumin seeds,asafoetida to a coarse paste by adding water.


  • I start to grind at the time of 12.
  • Mix the batter with hand and add salt & turmeric powder and keep it aside for fermentation.
     
     
  • After 8 hrs( At 8 pm you can prepare dosa) Add chopped onions, curry leaves, coriander leaves and chillies and mix well with the batter(If u are going to keep the rest of the batter in the fridge then dont add onions and others, take required amount of batter for dosa and add the onions and all. keep the rest of the batter as such without adding the onions in the fridge)


  • Heat tawa and sprinkle oil in it.
  • Take a  laddle full of batter , pour in the tawa and spread to make dosa. Sprinkle oil for dosa.
     
  • Flip over the dosa and cook the other side this can be served with coconut chutney.
