6 Types of Oothappam / 6 types of Uthappam / Oothappam recipe / Uthappam recipe:
Oothappam is a easy recipe and can be tried out with different ingredients.
You can have this for your breakfast and even can pack this for your kids lunch box. Any kind of chutney and Tiffin Sambar will go well with this uthappam. For this Uthappam the main ingredient is the batter which is none other than our idli/dosa batter. Now let us see how to make different types of oothappam in one page. This is a healthy and nutritional one.
Onion Uthappam:
Ingredients:
Onion - 2 (finely chopped)Idli/Dosa Batter - 1 cup
Oil / ghee - as needed
Idli podi - as needed
Method:
Heat dosa pan and grease with oil/ ghee.Pour a small laddle full of dosa batter and dont spread it, because we want the uthappam to be thick.
Sprinkle the chopped onions , and drizzle idli podi.
Add oil to the sides of the uthappam , cook this in low medium flame.
After the bottom starts browning flip to the other side gently. Now our onion uthappam is ready
Coriander Uthappam:
Ingredients:
Coriander leaves -half cup (finely chopped)Idli/Dosa Batter - 1 cup
Oil / ghee - as needed
Method:
This is same as the procedure of making onion uthappam instead of onions here we put chopped coriander leaves and need not want to put idli podi( If needed can also use it).Tomato Uthappam:
Ingredients:
Tomato -1(finely chopped)Idli/Dosa Batter - 1 cup
Oil / ghee - as needed
Method:
This is same as the procedure of making onion uthappam instead of onions here we put chopped Tomato . Thats all our tomato uthappam is ready.Podi Uthappam:
Ingredients:
Idli podi-1tbspIdli/Dosa Batter - 1 cup
Oil / ghee - as needed
Method:
This is same as the procedure of making normal other uthappam. Here we sprinkle idli podi at the tob of the batter and cook both the sides.Carrot uthappam:
Ingredients:
Carrot -1(finely grated)Idli/Dosa Batter - 1 cup
Oil / ghee - as needed
Method:
This is same as the procedure of making onion uthappam instead of onions here we put grated carrot .Mixed Vegetable uthappam:
Ingredients:
Carrot - 1 tsp (grated)Onions - 1 tsp (chopped)
Tomato - 1 tsp(chopped)
Coriander leaves (chopped)
Idli Podi - 1tsp
Method:

Now our mixed vegetable uthappam is ready.
