Bread Egg Upma / Bread Muttai Upma / Bread recipe

Bread Upma with egg is a tummy statisfied recipe in bread.  Often my kids ask for this bread upma  and i too prefer this recipe.. My kids love this recipe for the taste and i love this recipe for its less time consuming.:-) :-) This upma is a delicious combination of bread and egg. This recipe can be done for breakfast or at the time of kids come from school. Usually upma is a south indian dish , this is a inovation in upma. However upma is usual this bread egg upma is so different . Try this recipe once and you till try this often. I hope this recipe would get a place in your menu...

Ingredients:

  1. Milk and sweet Bread - 6 Slices
  2. Egg - 4
  3. Onion - 2 (chopped)
  4. Green Chillies - 3
  5. Mustard - 1 tsp
  6. Urad dhal -1 tsp
  7. Oil - as needed
  8. Curry Leaves - for garnish
  9. Salt - as needed
Method:

  • Cut the bread slices into small pieces.
  • Add chopped onion and green chillies.
  • Now add the egg and salt in it.
  • Mix well so that the egg will combine with all the pieces of bread.
  • Heat a pan with oil and allow mustard seeds and urad dhal and curry leaves to temper.
  • Now add the mixture of bread pieces and saute it till it comes to the crispy one.

  • Now switch of the stove and our Bread Egg Upma is ready to serve.

Egg Curry/Simple Egg Curry/ Spicy Egg curry

Egg Curry

                Egg  curry is one of the favourite dish of my hubby. It is very easy to make too. If u don’t have enough time to cook any dish, you try this with plain steamed rice combination of egg curry(suits well with chapathi, roti too). This would tempt your tasty buds to have more. Now let us see how to make this egg curry.

Ingredients:

·        Onion – 1 (finely chopped)
·        Tomato -1 (finely chopped)
·        Egg – 5
·        Green Chillies – 2 (sliced)
·        Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
·        Red chilli powder – 2tsp
·        Coriander powder -1 tsp
·        Garam masala -1 tsp
·        Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
·        Salt – as needed
·        Oil -2 tblsp
·        Curry leaves and coriander leaves – for garnishing

For Grinding:

·        Onion- 1 (finely chopped)
·        Tomato – 1(finely chopped)
·        Coconut – ½ cup (sliced /grated)
·        Poppy seeds(kasakasa) – 1 pinch
·        Cumin seeds(jeeragam) – 1 tsp
·        Fennel seeds(sombu)- 1 tsp
·        Cinamon(pattai) – 1 inch
·        Cloves(lavangam)-2 nos
·        Cardamom (elakai)-2 nos

Method:

·        Boil the eggs and remove the shells.

·      Slit it vertically with knife gently (don’t cut it deeply. If want cut it vertical to get  two pieces).
·        Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onions fry till golden brown.

·        Now add the chopped tomato and sauté it for 1 min and add sliced coconut and sauté it again for 1 -2 min.

·        Keep it aside, let it cool. In that add cumin seeds, fennel seeds,cinnamon,cloves, cardamom, poppy seeds and grind it in a mixer to get a fine paste.

·        Heat oil in a pan and allow mustard seeds to temper and put the chopped onions and fry till golden brown.


·        Add green chillies,ginger garlic paste and sauté till the raw smell disappears.

·        Now add the tomato and allow it to cook well.

·        Put the dry spices coriander powder, chilli powder,garam masala and sauté it without adding any water.

·        Now pour the fine paste masala and add enough water.

·        Add salt to taste. Let it boil.
·        After boiling for 5 min add the boiled eggs and allow it to boil.

·        Put in medium flame till the oil pops from the curry.

·        Add the curry leaves and coriander leaves.




Hot and spicy egg curry is now ready!!!


Note:
     Boiling eggs is a great job (to get a whole boiled egg). Boil the egg in medium flame, allow till 10 mins.(want to find whether it is cooked or not!!  Then see the crack in the shell, if it is there it is fully cooked).
