Crispy Fried Corn Kernels

Crispy Fried Corn Kernels:

          Many dish can be made  using this corn. Usually you can get roasted and boiled corn cobs in the road sides. This recipe crispy fried corn kernels i tasted in a restaurant and was waiting for a nice day to try this dish. Really it comes out well and we enjoyed having this dish. Ingredients:


  • Corn kernels - 2 cups
  • Rice flour - 1/2 cup + 1/2 cup
  • Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Onion - 1
  • Green chillies - 2 nos
  • chilli flakes - 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - for garnishing
  • Curry leaves - for garnishing
  • Salt  - to taste
  • Oil - for frying

Method:


  1. Take a mixing bowl and add 1/2 cup of rice flour, chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, garam masala salt and mix well, add some water and make it to the batter consitency (not too thick or runny).

  2. Add the corn kernels in it and mix well so that all the kernels are coated with the batter.
  3. Take a plate and add the 1/2 cup of rice flour in it .
  4. Take the batter coated corn kernels ,make sure it should not have any water in it take only the kernels and put it in the plate of rice flour and mix well, so that the corn kernels is coated with rice flour. take out from the flour and keep it separately. Do repeat the process for the remaining kernels.




  5. Heat oil in a pan for frying the kernels.
  6. Put a handful of kernels and fry till golden brown , then remove from the oil and put it in a kitchen towel.


  7. After frying all the kernels put the curry leaves in the oil and fry till crispy and take out.
  8. Chop the onion, green chillies.
  9. take a bowl and put the chopped onion and green chillies,chilli flakes in it .

  10. Now add the corn kernels , coriander leaves, curry leaves and mix well.


  11. Sprinkle some salt in it and mix well.
  12. Serve it with hot coffee or any as per your wish!!!!
