How to make Instant Badam Mix

How to make Instant Badam Mix:

  Boring of having the same store bought mix milk?? Try this Home made instant badam mix .
This is easy to make and healthy too.Here I have listed a small quantity which will come for one week only if you need more double the quantity.

Ingredients:


  1. Badam/Almonds - 2 tbsp
  2. Pista - 2tbsp
  3. Walnut - 2 tbsp
  4. Cardamom - 4 nos
  5. Saffron - a pinch

Method:


  • Dry roast the all the ingredients except saffron.
  • Cool it completely in room temperature.
  • Take a clean and dry mixer and add all the ingredients and add the saffron and add 1 tbsp of palm sugar in it it, grind it to a fine powder.


  • Store this in a air tight container.
  • Boil the milk and add 12 tsp of instant mix and adjust sugar as per your taste and serve it !!


Pudina chutney / Mint Chutney

Mint Chutney/Pudina Chutney:

       Mint chutney is easy to make and it tastes yummy. Mint chutney is used in many ways  Let us learn how to make this simple mint chutney.

Ingredients:

To Grind:


  • Mint leaves - 1 cup
  • coriander leaves - 1 cup
  • Green chillies - 3
  • lemon  - half
  • Curry leaves - few 
  • salt - as needed

For Seasoning:


  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - few

Method:


  1. Grind all the ingredients mentioned below the to grind  section.





  2. For seasoning heat a kadai and add oil in it.
  3. Add mustard seeds and allow it to temper, then add the curry leaves and add the seasoning to the mint chutney.

Bread egg sandwich

Bread Egg Sandwich:

     Bread egg sandwich is a nice snack and also can be made as a morning breakfast. This recipe is same as our Bread Pakora with the slight difference.My kids love this recipe very much Try this delicious bread egg sandwich in your kitchen and let me know how it comes for you.Let us see how to make this recipe.

 Ingredients:


  1. Bread - 12 slices
  2. Onion - 1
  3. Green chillies 2 nos
  4. Curry leaves-few
  5. Coriander leaves - few
  6. Egg - 3
  7. oil - as needed
  8. salt - as needed

Method:

  • Chop the onion, green chillies, curry leaves and coriander leaves.
  • Take a mixing bowl and add the chopped chillies onion curry leaves and coriander leaves.
  • Add egg , salt and beat well, keep it aside


  • Heat a tawa and sprinkle some oil in it.
  • Dip the bread slice in the egg mixing on both the sides and cook well. Serve this with the mint chutney and tomato ketchup!!

Now our snack is ready to serve!!!

Maangai Pachadi/Mango pachadi

Maangai Pachadi/Mango Pachadi :

   Mango Pachadi is a traditional South Indian dish. Usually South Indians use to prepare this recipe on Tamil New Year (chithirai 1). This recipe has all the tastes in it. I love this mango pachadi very much. When I have mangoes in home surely i will make this recipe. In my school days i used to do this recipe often. It is very simple and easy recipe and also tastes well.Let us see how to make this recipe.

 Ingredients:


  • Raw Mango  -1  
  • Jaggery - 1/2 cup
  • Rice  flour - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste

 Seasoning:


  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Dry chillies - 2 nos
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Hing - 1/2 tsp

Method:


  1. Peel the skin of the mango.(You can use without using the skin too)  Dice the mango into cubes.

  2. Powder the jaggery and add in a bowl and add some water and allow it to boil. 

  3. When it is dissolved completely then filter the jaggery solution to remove the impurities.
  4. Again allow it to boil and add the diced mango pieces . Let it gets soft.

  5. Mix well and add water to the rice flour and pour it and mix it(this acts as the thickening agent for the pachadi).
  6. Now add the chilli powder, turmeric powder, and salt .


  7. For seasoning heat a kadai and add oil in it.
  8. Add the mustard seeds, dry chillies,hing powder and curry leaves and allow it to temper.
  9. Pour this seasoning to the pachadi.(On Tamil New Year we use neem flowers fried in ghee and add to the pachadi for the bitterness).

  10. Now our mango pachadi is ready.

Tapioca Vada/Kappa Vada/Maravalli kizhangu Vadai

Kappa Vada/Maravalli kizhangu Vadai:(Tapioca Vada)

         You are right it is kappa vada!!! It is easy to prepare like other vada and it tastes well. I love this vada very much. This is a crispy and tasty snack which goes as a perfect match at tea time. Try this yummy vada.

Ingredients:


  • Urad dal - 1/2 cup
  • Kappa - 1 
  • Onion- 1 
  • Green Chillies - 2 
  • Curry leaves -few
  • Coriander leaves- few
  • Ginger - 1 tsp(finely chopped)
  • Rice flour- 1 tbsdp
  • Corn flour - 1 tbsp
  • salt - as required
  • Oil - for deep frying

Method:


  1. Peel the skin of the tapioca(kappa kizhangu).

  2. Soak urad dal for 2 hrs
  3. Grate the tapioca(kappa kizhangu) and squeeze it to extract the juice of it. (you need not want the extract later you can use this extract for soups of gravy to thickening).



  4. Grind the urad dhal in the mixer without adding water in it.

  5. Take a mixing bowl and add the grated kappa, urad dhal batter,chopped onions,chopped green chillies. curry leaves and coriander leaves finely chopped,grated ginger, rice flour, corn flour and salt for the recipe and mix well.


  6. Take water in a bowl for wet your hands.
  7. Heat oil in a kadai for deep frying.
  8. Wet your hands and Take a hand of batter and make hole in the center and drop it in the oil for deep frying. 

  9. Wait till one side gets brown and then flip it of and cook both the sides like we do for vada. let the stove be in medium flame.
  10. Take out of the oil when it gets brown color and get cooked.

  11. Serve hot with coconut chutney and it goes well in tea time.
